About Muskoka

Muskoka is well known as the Ontario’s cottage country. It is located geographically in Ontario region and just 200 km north of Toronto.

Muskoka occupies an area of 6,475 km2 in Southern Ontario that includes the towns of Bracebridge, Gravenhurst and Huntsville, as well as the townships of Georgian Bay, Lake of Bays and Muskoka Lakes. Muskoka also borders Algonquin Park in the East (www.algonquinpark.on.ca/index.php).

It has 1600 lakes which provides cottaging destination as well as scenic boating adventures; the largest and most famous are Lakes Joseph, Muskoka and Rosseau which are interconnected.

Many of Muskoka’s seasonal properties are mansion-like summer estates, some of which have been passed down from generation to generation through Canadian families. These estates commonly feature a main cottage, boathouse, Bunkie, and multiple docks.

In 2017, Muskoka was the #1 most searched Canadian destination for vacation rentals and has been dubbed The Canadian Hamptons (National Geographic) and The Malibu of the North (New York Times).
